Some  are good, some are bad, but most resumes I see have great potential and could be  greatly improved with just a few tiny tweaks. This way you have an opportunity to make the best possible first impression as a developer ánd as a professional.

A job determines so many different factors in  your life: income, growth opportunities, relationships (colleagues) and happiness are all to a degree related to your job.  It is therefore important that yóu are in control of why and when you apply so you can make the right move at the right time. This meet up is part of the Appsterdam community. Appsterdam is a volunteer-run, non-profit community which organizes events for App Makers, by App Makers. Appsterdam provide infrastructure to support the app ecosystem with weekly lectures, weekly bar meetups, peer support, tech events and more. Their goal is to bring people together, no matter what background or skill level you possess.

It is probably an important choice for many software developers after a number of years of employment: do I stay employed, or do I take a plunge in the deep and start working as a freelancer? Figures from Dutch Bureau of Statistics show that IT specialists are in the top 10 professions with the most freelancers. More than one in five IT professionals is self-employed. Worldwide, millions of developers share their projects with a version control system. As a developer you can choose to share your code or keep it private. The great thing about a version control system is that it is possible to manage different versions and fall back on a previous version if something goes wrong. Sometimes developers make their projects public on purpose, so that other developers can contribute to their project and implement changes. Maybe you like to participate in projects yourself as well. It is also good fun to show your code to the world after all, your code is something to be proud of.

App Development in The Netherlands is booming business! So much so that HR-departmenst of app-agencies are having difficulties keeping up with the growth of the industry, resulting in lots of vacancies and not enough highly skilled, experienced app-developers to fill all these positions. App developers from outside of The Netherlands have noticed this too: not only are there plenty of interesting jobs available, the Dutch standard of living and labour circumstances are very attractive too!

Flutter is an open source, cross platform UI toolkit based on Dart and developed by Google. It’s aim is to speed up the development of apps.
